Speed Work Tomorrow?

Hello, Team Austin. Is everyone up to meet at Green Lake for our speed work at 6:45pm? Guess what? I finally have a flashing safety night light. No more scaring small children and pets in my path. :)

I'm planning to be at Greenlake YIPEE!! I won't be doing speed work but I'll be run/walking the loop.

Look forward to seeing some/all of you. Sounds like it is going to be chilly, bundle-up.

Cheers.

That's great Sarah!! Barb, are you swimming after?

I'm leaning toward speed work on my non-slippery treadmill. The idea of running around the lake in the dark where I can't see the ice isn't sitting well with me right now. I'll let you know if I change my mind.
Also, can't make it Thursday night, our company Christmas party is that night.
But I'm up for Saturday. Also, I know it's early, but is anyone planning to run on Christmas? Morning or evening? I need to plan a family gathering and what better way to plan it, but around our run, priorities you know.

I'm a little on the fence for tonight as well. If the roads are clear and I have a chance to run at lunchtime, I may just jump on that. Otherwise, I'll see you at 6:45.

Glad you're back in the game, Sarah!!

I would love to be there tonight - but the roads and ice have me a little worried about the drive. But i will take my gear to work just in case.

I am not going to make it to Greenlake tonight. I am going to run at lunchtime today and get home before I have to drive in the dark. (I am a wimp when it comes to driving in "winter" conditions)

As for Thursday, neither Andrew or I can make it. But I am up for the 17 miles on Saturday! Anyone have any ideas where they want to run? If not, I can come up with a route.

Andrew and I will be out of town Dec 24-28...so we will be running on Christmas, but we will be doing it in Connecticut.

sorry - I'm out for tonight, gonna have to work late.
Are we really up to 17 miles sat???? i've missed the last 2 long runs and might have to keep my run saturday a little shorter

Yes, I am planning on swimming after the run. You in, Andrew?

I was able to run at lunchtime so I won't be out there tonight. Bundle up, it's downright frigid out there!

I'm up for 17 on Saturday. Sorry I don't have a good suggestion as to where we can meet up though.

I'm out of town Dec 24-30...

My vote for Saturday is somewhere soft and flat...how's that for a Christmas wish?

We could do a loop of seward park, run 6 miles to around bush school and turn around run back and do another loop.

I vote for cedar river trail - it's an out and back so i can adjust my distance. It's flat. I should be able to get there even if it snows. May need to ask Sarah Arguda how icy it is though.

Seward Park sounds good to me, it's flat, distances can be adjusted, and fairly flat to drive to if roads aren't great.

I also vote for Seward since it's easy to adjust distances there. I don't know about the Cedar River trail but if it's shaded at all, there's less chance any snow we get will melt before Saturday. Lake WA blvd is mostly exposed so the sun can work its magic ... if we get any sun.

Are we on for the usual 9 AM?

I am happy with Seward Park! If people want to change up distances, let me know. I can do a couple of maps. I have spent A LOT of time running around the park and along Lk WA Blvd and know good landmarks to act as turn around points for people who want to run shorter.
