Seattle full/half marathon?

In an attempt to maintain some semblance of fitness I'm seriously contemplating running the Seattle Half at the end of November (Sunday after Thanksgiving). Anybody else interested in running the event or at least training for it? All of my long runs will be on the weekends and should cover anywhere from 8 to 16 miles.

I'm interested in the training runs, please keep me posted. I'm not supposed to be running right now, so it will be a few weeks before I can participate.

Oh, no Melinda. Is everything ok? Are you still targeting the Mt. Baker run?

Steve, I can't do the race but I'd also be interested in longer training runs.

I'm in for the race - it is my new goal to keep me at my recovery plan w/ the 10% increase in time every 3 days.

Bad thing is that 10% of not much isn't very long to run right now.

But I'll join the weekend long runs soon. Just post them here!

I won't be here for the Seattle Marathon as I'll be busy cheering for the Ironman Cozumel participants while drinking margaritas. However, I really want to keep up my long runs on the weekends!

Thanks Sarah, I think it is just a pulled muscle that I didn't let recover until my doctor told me I had to let it recover. Well sort of, not really following doctor's orders. That would be Baker Lake. Yes, I'm still doing it, but the doctor doesn't think I should. It's all good and I'm really looking forward to the run. I'll be thinking of you in Portland!!!!

I might be out of town for T'giving so the race is out but would love to do the training runs! I'm currently planning to run the Vancouver marathon on May 3rd. Anyone want to join me there? (side note: also looking at either Pac Crest half-iron or Desert Half in Osoyoos for IMC training races, or maybe both? any interest in either of those?)

Melinda, sorry to hear about your pulled muscle! Which one is it? Listen to your body, don't force something that might lead to an even longer healing/recovery period.

Emily and Melinda, have an awesome 50k run! I'm jealous; would love to be out there with you. Maybe next year? ;-)

Sarah, have a great run in Portland! I'll be sending you fast and happy vibes.

Miss you guys! Hope to see you somewhere soon.

Lee and I are already signed up for the Victoria Half (again!) on June 20th. Pac Crest is usually a week later so that is out. When is the Desert Half in Osoyoos?

When is Victoria? Pac Crest is June 26-27 and Desert Half is July 11th so just one weekend in between those two. So if Vic is the week before Pac, you'd have a 2-week break in between.

Since I have shunned anything having to do with running or biking or swimming for the last couple months - any events this year are out for me. I just needed a break. And am just in awe of all of you that keep at it.

My new goal is to ready for Onionman next year - and depending on how that goes - I might be up for either pacific crest or victoria. we'll see.
