Saturday???

So what is everyone thinking about Saturday morning? Are we still on? Emily and Andrew, how are the roads getting to Seward Park? Is anyone using treads on their shoes? I think a run in the cold, crisp, beautiful sun will be awesome, but I'm really wondering about the tricks to keeping upright and not down on my butt. Ideas? Thanks.

The roads aren't great, but driveable. Running 17 miles on ice seems scarier driving. That being said, I'm torn. It would be really cool to run, but I am also thinking of a treadmill or indoor track. What do you mean by treads?

Is she thinking of YakTrax or Stabiliciers, the traction devices you can attach to your shoes? Either way, I'm also torn. While the thought of 17 miles on a treadmill makes me want to cry, I'd rather do that than slip on the ice and pull a groin muscle or something. I wonder what kind of run/workout I'll really get in if I'm shuffling along to avoid slipping...

UGGHH about the dreadmill...I am planning on being there at 9am and will give it a try. If it is dangerous, I will stop. Anyone interested in joining, please call or text me in the morning - 971-246-1285.

(This is Emily writing on Andrew's computer)...Andrew and I are heading to the downtown YMCA to run on the treadmill and 1/16th of a mile indoor running track. This will be my first experience on a treadmill (aside from trying on running shoes at Seattle Running Company). I think I will be a treadmill expert after the 3 hours it will take me to run 17 miles. I am also going to take advantage of this opportunity to try out the Camelbak Andrew got me. If I hate it, I can drop it on the floor!

I hope everyone stays warm and safe!

kuddos to all of you getting in your milage on treadmills. I've never run on one before - but can't imagine that it's much fun. After a 90hr week of work - I just don't have it in me to attempt the 17m today.
I am in awe of all of you not calling it quits because of the snow - i hope that after I catch up on my sleep I can be half as strong and commited as y'all!
Stay safe!
